Living Under Policies of Colonisation in Jerusalem
In 1948, 80,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes in the areas of West Jerusalem. East Jerusalem was illegally annexed by Israel in 1967. Since 1967, Israel has been enacting discriminatory policies and laws that supress the growth of the Palestinian community. Currently, the municipal plan for Jerusalem sets an explicit goal that Palestinians should not exceed 40% of the population of Jerusalem. To ensure this, Israel is engaged in a process of "silent transfer" of Palestinians out of Jerusalem. This visual was developed in collaboration with six human rights organizations working together on Jerusalem: The Community Action Center, Al-Haq, Al-Shabaka, Badil, the Jerusalem Legal Aid and Human Rights Center (JLAC), and the Society of St. Yves.
